Damn, this was actually a good finale. I thought they were going to cop out of killing off Michiru, but damn they managed to make her death hit even harder than I thought they would.

We also FINALLY got to see a fraction of what Musashi can be capable of with his obsidian goddess powers so that was also cool. Overall, Orient may not have been the best shounen I've ever watched but it was still a decent watch from week to week. I give it a 7/10 overall

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Sadly I'm the opposite though,
It was sad to see Michiru to go but this just felt like something you can when you are board, drunk, and or stone to make you get the feels for this.
To me it's like challenging your self as watching 20 mins worth of infomercials on tv, or watching 30 mins worth of a shopping network and hopes to see what good crap you may want to bye.

Gotta agree with you here, my friend read the manga and he said that it is way better than the anime. The last ep was way better than all the other ones but still it didn't served as a redemption. Michiru's death hit really hard and she was one of the reasons I looked forward to s2 but they just killed her off. Wasn't this supposed to be the best possible time where they could add a new member in their puny kanemaki band but they sticked with that 2 guys, 1 girl anime troupe. Well, kinda disappointed, 6/10 from me and I'm being really lenient. xD

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Thx 4 agreeing with me on this also this is just part 2 of season 1 not really a season 2 tho.

RIZER • 1 year ago

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

They are up at KKA

yougt • 1 year ago

wait its only part 2?? isnt it the same as season 2 also this anime is so good ive watched the first one and till this one its still not a dissapointment

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Not necessarily, a part 2 can be just part of a same season and just be a split cour.
Example: Shokugeki no Souma 3rd season had a two cour and was part of the whole season.
Although a long running anime/series can be split into seasons if it didn't end a season like Naruto Shippuden, Boruto, One Piece, Detective Conan does/did

Well there were some good parts...but rest of the episode was a disappointment....they did Musashi's character too much...in the first season it was understandable as the goddess took over him...but now he was just himself....why did they make his hair all yellow...and long like that....in the season 1 he looked badass with all that hair but now ...this new transformation didn't lived up to expectations....

And more if they wanted to do some good moments with character they should have made one more episode ....the fight was already over without any action...and they did dirty to michiro's father ...michiro said what she wanted to say and they showed her father's and memories but when his turned came to say something he just got killed and was not able to say anything...and she was happy...

Kirito • 1 year ago

In season 1 his hair is black because the obsidian goddess was the one in control but this time musashi is control but he can tap 1 of it's power

iCurvaceous • 1 year ago

I think her father not being able to say anything was a form of his punishment or karma per say. Death does not nullify all the harm he's done. So when he was unable to say his last few words, it reminded me about reality and how many of us who have lost our loved ones end up regretting not being able to say and do the most important things and take them for granted.

She was happy probably because her happiness no longer stemmed from her father's desires. She learned to let go. Hence why she was able to go with Musashi in the previous episode.

But I agree that overall there was some embodiment/characteristics that was missing that would have deemed the show more wholesome at the end.

Maybe there will be more of Michuru in the future seasons, she return to her own blade after disappearing, it would be interesting to see Michuru aka 'Fake Obsidian Goddess' and the Real Goddess teaming up to power up the MC

KENZO-KUN • 1 year ago

I almost cried when michiru died

Kirito • 1 year ago

I fake my sad watching it

Orient is like more gore in manga. The anime sure tone down alot. Manga is always better. Its a good shonen story. Unlike other shonen they got Axes quite alot. lol, Orient prove it worthy of getting adapation with good storytelling and world building is freaking good too. hope we get another season.

🔥SkyHigh🔥 • 1 year ago

Yea from the small snippets I saw from the manga, the manga seems way more mature and dark than the anime

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

reallly made that ending song with her on the bike with them to be non-existent. Why even show her with them like a member of their band?

🔥SkyHigh🔥 • 1 year ago

Well yes...that's not uncommon in anime. Remember Jujutsu Kaisen where they showed Junpei with Itadori and Jujutsu high? It's basically just a "what could have been" scenario

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

I find a lot of anime actually spoil things in openings and ending songs. In this case you expect she'd join them with how it was portrayed but nope. LoL. Anyways you never know how this anime is going to go and just having these 2 other members is really lacking for a band like they keep stating they're making.

Whenever you get a level up, your hair grows and turns blond/white. I guess Saitama turned bald as a joke on this stereotype.

Kirito • 1 year ago

His hair became yellow all of a sudden then became op using his finger even though his arm got ripped and suddenly his arm is back

thunderborn 32 • 1 year ago

he literally did

Personal Private • 1 year ago

Wow... I actually enjoyed episode 12 out of all the episodes but Michiru tho.... :(

Kirito • 1 year ago

Musashi the background character became the op mc in the end

Super saiyan Musashi

Serenity Lithae • 1 year ago

I was really hoping they'd find a way to save her. Maybe they still can? It seems like her soul went into the blade, so maybe once Musashi gets powerful enough he can give her a new body? Maybe he can save all the people turned into swords.

I really liked Michiru, I tend to hate when people use this term, like it's super annoying most of the time, but damn was Michiru best girl. She may have been quiet and shy in some respects but she wasn't submissive and she stood by her beliefs and despite the beginning where she was hiding her intentions, it seemed like she was really open with her thoughts and what she wanted. Even when she was ordered to kill Musashi, once she started to doubt that, she was very straightforward about it. It's rare to find a character so true to themselves.

I hope he'll be able to communicate with her soul still at least. They seem so end game it would be a shame if he met someone else later instead of trying to save her completely.

Kirito • 1 year ago

The obsidian goddess did say find more about her and he will know so there's still a way for michiru to come back

BlaiseCorvin • 1 year ago

I can't wait for her to see the ML~ 😏

Astolfo-kun • 1 year ago

Part of the sword now

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

This was a decently good Shonen anime! A bit hasted and not so much character development, not to mention rushed content here and there. What I really don't like was he battle between Inukai and Naotora... neither of them won that battle truthfully, otherwise I am sure Inukai would have won - he was stronger per total.

Overall Score: 8/10. Quite good, but it should focus on the content more and slow it down.

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

i think naotora's ability is beyond the whites ability hes like simbad that can use light dark and hes new blade actually looks like some sort of void blade

DarkerDarkness • 1 year ago

Im quite happy that it doesnt drag on to much and progresses, though the fight in this episodes could have been a little longer

Ashton Lusier • 1 year ago

Midway episode theory. This pretty lady is going to vanish like so many other Thanos victims ain't she?

Ashton Lusier • 1 year ago

Moments later, NOOOOOOOO!

Kirito • 1 year ago

His dad said they're a separated body and she won't die then suddenly she died lol

Aaron Knight • 1 year ago

Best of this season (in my opinion)
1 Summertime Render
2 Overlord
3 Kingdom
4 Black Summoner
5 Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa
Honorable mention: Orient (enjoyable but not amazing)
Was disappointed in Classroom of the Elite

Sugaroll • 1 year ago

You forgot Made in abyss ;)

Aaron Knight • 1 year ago

True!

DarkerDarkness • 1 year ago

Would replace dungeon ni with orient, dungeon ni drags a little to much for me
